On Friday this week another group of children from the Woodfields area of Cam in Gloucestershire will receive a special award for successfully completing the ‘Bounce’ personal development and challenge programme, run by World Jungle.
This project was made possible with funding from People’s Health Trust using money raised by HealthTotal through The Health Lottery.
BOUNCE! Is a 10-week, personal development and challenge programme for children who are facing conflict in their lives. World Jungle’s project began at the end of 2013 and aims to help over 60 children over a two year period by running fun and interactive courses focused on managing conflict and developing emotional intelligence and resilience.
Ben Ward from World Jungle said:
This innovative and creative programme aims to equip the children with the skills to help deal with conflict both in the home environment and amongst their peers. It is wonderful to see how the children grow over the course of the weeks, gaining in confidence and managing to deal with situations in a much more constructive and positive way.
The Bounce Programme itself is designed as an extra -curricular intervention for primary school children facing conflict in their lives, developed in response to schools needing additional support for children with behavioural issues. It supports educational engagement and attainment, helping the participants to develop confidence, respect, and fairness, while raising aspirations and improving their capacity to manage stress.
The next Bounce Programme is set to begin on 27 February 2015 at Cam Woodfields Junior School. If you would like to find out more, please contact Ben Ward at World Jungle on 07889 512644 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
