Was learning to dance one of your resolutions for the New Year? Or perhaps you have resolved to try and get more active and make healthy changes to your lifestyle?
In addition to their regular weekly programme of health and fitness classes, local community organisation World Jungle is organising another series of individual dance workshops to take place over the course of the year on Saturday mornings at the Chantry Centre (Lister Hall) in Dursley.
Fans of the late Patrick Swayze will be especially excited by the choice of the first workshop taking place on Saturday 4th February 10am-12noon which is themed around the iconic film ‘Dirty Dancing’
The dance workshop will be led by guest tutor Claire Phipps from the Showgirl Academy in Bristol who has run a number of popular dance workshops in the town over the past few years. Claire said:
“I am delighted to be invited back to Dursley and I’m really looking forward to deliver this session which is always great fun. The music is infectious and you won’t be able to stop smiling as you learn some of the iconic moves that made the film so memorable.”
Organiser Jane Manning from World Jungle said:
“There are so many good reasons to get dancing – It’s a fun, social way of keeping fit, great for both your physical health and mental wellbeing. What’s more, regardless of age, experience or ability, anyone can dance.”
Tickets for the two hour workshop cost £8. No partner is needed and all ages and abilities are welcome. Just wear normal fitness or comfortable clothes, dance shoes or trainers. There are limited spaces, so booking is advisable by contacting Jane Manning at World Jungle on 07878 865297, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.worldjungle.org.uk .
