… in Cam & Dursley!
World Jungle is delighted to have received support from Gloucestershire County Council’s Children Activity Fund to deliver a fun programme of activities and events for children, young people and their families to enjoy this summer in Cam and Dursley.
The ‘Summer off the Streets’ programme will include a combination of indoor and outdoor activities using a mix of community venues and local green spaces. It will also include two big community ‘fun-day’ events with lots of free activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Ben Ward from World Jungle said:
“We are really excited to have the opportunity to bring our ‘Summer off the Streets’ programme to Cam and Dursley which we have been running with great success across the Cotswold District for the past few years.
Activities are being planned for the May half-term break and over the long summer holiday and will include a range of things to suit all interests including circus skills, games, dance , African drumming, cooking, face painting, henna and arts and crafts. We want to inspire kids to get active, learn about healthy behaviours, try new things… and of course have lots of fun over the school holidays.”
The funding was made available under the ‘Children’s Activity Fund, a grant scheme from Gloucestershire County Council encouraging more sport and physical activity across the county. The activity programme run by World Jungle will be funded under this scheme with the backing of local County Councillor Stephen Lydon. Cllr Lydon said:
“As the County Councillor for Dursley, I am very happy to support this project for young people in the Cam and Dursley area. World Jungle is a locally based group, who have an excellent track record in delivering projects such as this. I look forward to visiting the project and seeing it working.”
